Do not love someone excessively!! Here's why
Many relationships fall apart not because there is too little love, but because people love too excessively, forgetting their boundaries.
In fact, there is a golden piece of advice from the Prophet Muhammad encouraging us to always keep our emotions in balance so we do not end up heartbroken later on. Quoting from the book Mukhtarul Ahadith, the Prophet Muhammad said:
Ø£َØْبِبْ ØَبِيبَÙƒَ Ù‡َÙˆْÙ†ًا Ù…َا ، عَسَÙ‰ Ø£َÙ†ْ ÙŠَÙƒُونَ بَغِيضَÙƒَ ÙŠَÙˆْÙ…ًا Ù…َا. ÙˆَØ£َبْغِضُ بَغِيضَÙƒَ Ù‡َÙˆْÙ†ًا Ù…َا ، عَسَÙ‰ Ø£َÙ†ْ ÙŠَÙƒُونَ ØَبِيبَÙƒَ ÙŠَÙˆْÙ…ًا Ù…َا. (رواه الترمذي)
"Love your beloved in moderation, for one day they may become someone you hate. And hate the person you hate in moderation, for one day they may become your beloved".
Hadith explanation: Imam At-Tirmidhi narrated it through Abu Hurairah (mentioned in Sunan At-Tirmidhi, no. 1997).
The Companion Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) once gave similar advice:
“Do not let your love make you reckless (like a small child), and do not let your hatred make you wish destruction upon others.”
May this blog become a field of investment in righteous deeds.
